Nationally Recognized Recycling Program

Athens-Clarke County is the home of Georgia's first municipally-operated residential curbside recycling program. Since establishing this program in the fall of 1988, our waste reduction and recycling efforts have grown to include Pay-As-You-Throw garbage systems and expanded recycling services for both commercial and residential customers in our community.
